The School of Intelligent Construction and Low-altitude Technology was established in 2013. The school focuses on serving the 'Strong Transportation Nation' initiative and the construction of the New Land-Sea Corridor in the western region of China, aiming to cultivate individuals with both moral integrity and technical skills, who possess a sense of patriotism and craftsmanship. Since 2020, the school has collaborated with Beibu Gulf University and Guangxi University for Nationalities to jointly educate undergraduate students.
The school has three teaching departments: Intelligent Construction, Urban Renewal, and Low-altitude Technology. It offers seven majors: Architectural Engineering Technology, Engineering Cost Management, Civil Engineering Testing Technology, Municipal Engineering Technology, Landscape Engineering Technology, Architectural Design, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Surveying Technology. The Urban Rail Transit Engineering Technology major cluster, led by the college, was selected for the Guangxi High-level Major Cluster. Additionally, Architectural Engineering Technology, Engineering Cost Management, Municipal Engineering Technology, and Civil Engineering Testing Technology were chosen for the Guangxi High-level Major Cluster programs. The Architectural Engineering Technology major received the 'National Innovation Action Plan Key Major' designation in 2019.
The school has one certified Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Engineering Research Center, and currently hosts five research platforms at or above municipal level. It has been selected for the National Demonstration Virtual Simulation Training Base Project and the Western Land-Sea New Passage (Guangxi) Comprehensive Transportation Virtual Simulation Training Base, and is among the first batch of Guangxi Vocational Colleges 'Dual-Teacher' Teacher Training Bases. The Guangxi Low Altitude Traffic Innovation Application Center and the Low Altitude Industry College have been established. The school houses an integrated transportation training base covering 19,000 square meters, with 27 training rooms including the Infrastructure 3D Digital Twin Engineering Research Center and the BIM Engineering Technology Research Center. It has successively been chosen as a pilot for the '1+X' Prefabricated Construction Skills Level Certificate System, the '1+X' Digital Engineering Cost Application Skills Level Certificate System, a training examination point for key position personnel certificates in the construction field under Guangxi Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and a training institution for construction workers in the Guangxi housing and urban-rural development sector.
The school boasts a strong faculty, with 4% holding doctoral degrees or currently pursuing doctorates, 70% having postgraduate degrees, 7% being full professors or professor-level senior engineers, and 36% holding associate professor or higher titles. Additionally, 60% of the teachers are dual-certified, and one has been selected for the Guangxi Higher Education Thousand Middle-aged and Young Backbone Teachers Training Program, while another is among the second-tier candidates of the Guangxi 'Ten Hundred Thousand' Talent Project's twentieth batch.
In recent years, the school has made continuous breakthroughs in educational and teaching reforms, winning two Guangxi Teaching Achievement Awards. Faculty members have received three national awards and over thirty provincial and ministerial awards in national and Guangxi vocational colleges' skills competitions for teaching abilities. Students have won three national awards and more than one hundred provincial and ministerial awards, as well as over one hundred and twenty municipal and department-level skill competition awards in international events such as the World Vocational Colleges Skills Competition, China International College Students' Innovation Competition, and the 'Challenge Cup'. The course 'Building Structures' has been selected as a national online excellent course for vocational education, and four courses have been recognized as exemplary ideological and political courses at the autonomous region level. Additionally, three occupational standards, including 'Construction Technology', have been certified by countries such as Sri Lanka and Laos, continuously achieving new breakthroughs in landmark results of 'Dual High' construction.
