Established in 1958, the School of Automotive Engineering is a national demonstration major point for transportation categories in vocational colleges, one of the first pilot institutions for the Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project by the Ministry of Education, and a unit for professional cooperation construction under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Currently, it offers majors such as New Energy Vehicle Technology, Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology, Automotive Manufacturing and Testing Technology, Automotive Inspection and Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Intelligent Construction Machinery Application Technology, and Urban Rail Transit Mechatronics Technology. In the 'Golden Apple Higher Vocational Major Competitiveness Ranking' from 2023 to 2024, the backbone major of Automotive Manufacturing and Testing Technology has ranked among the top three nationwide for two consecutive years.

Our achievements are abundant. We have a solid foundation and outstanding results. We have received over 60 national honors, including the Advanced Collective in the National Education System, National Teaching Teams, National Excellent Courses, National Planning Textbooks, Central Government-funded Training Base Construction, National Base for Training Skilled and Shortage Talent, Key Specialties under the Action Plan for Innovative Development of Higher Vocational Education, and First Prize in the National Vocational College Skills Competition. We have established national exemplary party building demonstration departments and exemplary party building model branches, and have been selected for the National 'Double Leader' Teacher Party Branch Secretary Studio and the 'Strong Nation' Action Plan for National 'Double Leader' Teacher Party Branch Secretaries, achieving a full set of national party building 'Double Creation' projects. We have also been selected as a Guangxi 'Three Comprehensive Education' Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Department (Class A). Our professional cluster has successfully passed the Guangxi High-Level Evaluation with excellent grades and ranked first in landmark achievements, making us part of the new round of Guangxi Double-High Construction Units. We focus on Guangxi and face ASEAN, dedicated to serving the integrated smart transportation construction of 'vehicle-energy-road-cloud' in Guangxi, meeting the needs of a strong transportation region and China-ASEAN economic integration, supporting regional development, and building a department that is 'leading nationwide and renowned in ASEAN'.

The educational outcomes are excellent. We have fully implemented the 'Qingli Craftsman' Party building empowerment action, soul-casting and skill-honing action, and cultural immersion action. We have innovated a comprehensive training system called 'Five Cultivations and Five Craftsman', with the philosophy of 'cultivating craftsmanship, mastering skills, strengthening physical fitness, shaping artistic skills, and practicing craftsmanship'. This has produced thousands of 'Qingli Youth' who understand intelligent manufacturing, can assemble and adjust equipment, and excel in maintenance and operation. In the past five years, students have won two first prizes, seven second prizes, and six third prizes at the National Vocational College Skills Competition; one gold medal and four bronze medals at the World Vocational College Skills Competition; twenty-six first prizes, four second prizes, and three third prizes at the Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition. Additionally, they have secured three bronze awards at the National 'Internet+' College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and five gold awards at the Guangxi level; two silver awards at the National 'Challenge Cup' competition and four gold awards at the Guangxi level.

Our faculty team is strong. We currently have 103 staff members, with 45% holding senior titles, 85% possessing dual professional qualifications, and 74% holding master's degrees or higher. We have one national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, one Guangxi Huang Danian-style innovation team, one Ministry of Education New Era Master Teacher, one Guangxi Teaching Master, one Guangxi Model Teacher, one Guangxi Outstanding Teacher, one Transportation Science and Technology Talent, four National Transportation Technical Masters, and five Guangxi Technical Masters. We also hire two National Master Craftsmen and two Guangxi Technical Masters and Chief Technicians. We have established a teacher development model characterized by 'strengthening spirit and morality, led by masters and skilled craftsmen, enhancing practical skills.'

The integration of industry and education is deep. We have established a 'one body, three institutes' operational mechanism for industry-education integration, leading the construction of the Nanning Electronic Information Industry-Education Joint Body, and jointly building the Guangxi-only benchmark industry school with BYD, as well as the Guangxi New Energy Non-Road Vehicle Intelligent Manufacturing Production Practice Center with Guangxi Automobile Group. Additionally, we are the only unit among Guangxi's higher vocational colleges that conducts school-enterprise cooperation order-based talent training with well-known domestic and international brands such as Li Auto, XPeng, Toyota, General Motors, Ford, FAW-Volkswagen, Komatsu, Kone, Kia, and Honda. This effectively ensures students' graduation internships and employment. In the past five years, the employment rate of graduates has consistently reached over 95%.

The training conditions are excellent. Currently, there are over 26,000 square meters of training space. We have established more than 180 training bases both on and off-campus, including virtual simulation bases for new energy vehicles, intelligent vehicle innovation centers, smart production lines for power batteries, industry-education integration bases for specialized new energy vehicles, the China-ASEAN Intelligent Connected Vehicle Research Institute and its pilot base, among others. We are developing a new energy vehicle industry-education integration training base to promote the coordinated development of industry, majors, and employment. We possess one central government-funded training base, one national-level innovation center, one national virtual simulation training base, one All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce industry-education integration training base, and one Guangxi virtual simulation training base.

International cooperation is extensive. By adhering to the principle of education following production outcomes, we collaborate with enterprises such as BYD and Guangxi Automobile Group to implement the 'Three Vehicles Going Abroad' plan. This initiative has innovated a five-in-one model for vocational education talent, technology, standards, resources, and equipment going overseas. We were the first to establish the China-Vietnam Vocational Education Industry Alliance and serve as the leading unit. We also spearheaded the construction of the first China-Vietnam Modern Craftsmanship Institute for New Energy Vehicles, exporting seven Chinese vocational education standards. Our achievements have won second prize at the national teaching awards and special prizes at the Guangxi teaching awards.
