The School of Economics and Management of GTVTC was founded in 1958, originally known as the Department of Management Engineering. Currently, it offers five majors: Big Data and Accounting, Marketing, Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Airline Services. Over nearly 70 years of dedicated development, the School has accumulated rich experience and achieved leapfrog growth, becoming a prominent and outstanding professional education hub with distinct characteristics. In 2024, the School was honored with the title of 'Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Department for Three-Alls Education' among universities in the region due to its outstanding achievements in educational philosophy and practice, injecting new momentum into its continuous development.

The school has one rural revitalization e-commerce talent training demonstration base, four '1+X' pilot projects, and one training base supported by Guangxi's finance department. To date, it has cultivated over 12,000 outstanding technical and skilled talents for the national transportation industry and Guangxi's socio-economic development, with nearly 4,000 full-time students currently enrolled. The college boasts a team of high-quality, professional, and innovative excellent teachers, including one national integrated innovation teaching and teacher team, two GTVTC-level research and teaching innovation teams, one Guangxi March 8th Red Flag Bearer, one outstanding individual in Guangxi's rural revitalization, and two teaching masters.
